Roksan launch new Caspian M2 series

Roksan Audio are delighted to announce the launch of the all-new Roksan Caspian M2 Series. Developing on and superseding the principles of the highly revered Caspian M-Series, this innovative CD and Integrated Amp combination are set to revolutionise the way you hear, feel and, ultimately, enjoy your precious music collection. Though obviously taking design and knowledge from its forebears, the new M2 Series actually routes its genealogy more in the technology and inspiration behind the ultra-high-end Roksan Platinum Series ensuring the utmost quality in audio reproduction. This is by no means a simple re-brand of an old range the new M2 Series has been fundamentally re-designed, right down to the external aesthetics, to be placed above Caspian M-Series, more in line with the Platinum Series. The new front façade of each unit offers a modern, yet timelessly ‘Roksan’ appearance, and the stunning finish is continued around the subtly branded stainless steel chassis. In addition, both CD and amplifier come supplied with the high-quality, multi-function Roksan LCD System Remote Control, first introduced with the award-winning K2 Series. However, aside from external preoccupations, it’s what’s going on under the cover that really sets this series apart… The M2 Integrated Amplifier boasts an impressive 85/125 Watts per-channel (into 8ohms and 4 ohms respectively), but the ease with which the M2 negotiates the loudspeaker load through even the most delicate yet demanding musical passages is almost unbelievable, especially from such an elegant looking amplifier. This competence is due in no small part to the state-of-the-art power house found within the chassis. The amplifier boasts two ultra low noise, low leakage Toroidal transformers one for the master power supply, and a second for the independent, dual-output Phono Preamplifier. In function, the ease of use of the amplifier is reminiscent of previous Roksan designs, but the relentless refinements sought by their team of dedicated engineers shines through in the quality – recognisable in look and sound quality. There are five Line inputs and one Tape in-out, one input is switchable to balanced XLR, and all connectors are Gold plated. In addition, the M2 Integrated Amplifier boasts a number of useful security features including LED position indicator on the volume control, a -20db mute function, short circuit protection and power supply failure detection system. The M2 CD Player boasts modern internal components, comparable to the Integrated Amplifier, and benefited through it’s design phases due to the ongoing development of the forthcoming Platinum CD Player. The M2 utilises a one-piece optimised mother board, de-coupled mechanism and dedicated transformer/power supplies for the analogue filters and the outputs. The dynamic resolution of the M2 CD Player handles from the loudest to the quietest musical passages, and the detail in reproduction brings almost an ‘analogue’ feel to the musical playback. With a 24-bit, 192 kHz DAC, individually selected Laser Mechanism, Gold-plated output ports, and a dedicated transformer and power supply for the analogue filters and output stage quality has been sought and guaranteed down to the finest detail.
